Carissimi Fratelli,
in occasione del Solstizio d’estate, vi giunga l’augurio del Collegio dei Maestri Venerabili e mio di una eccellente ricreazione, nella prospettiva di tornare rigenerati in autunno ai nostri Lavori.
Mi è innanzitutto caro ed anzi doveroso ricordare che proprio in questi giorni, un secolo fa, i nostri nonni e, come nel mio caso, i nostri padri respingevano nella sanguinosissima battaglia, definita del Solstizio da Gabriele D’Annunzio, l’ultima offensiva austriaca sul Piave, che avrebbe visto cadere, insieme agli altri, il Fr. Francesco Baracca, ricordato in questi giorni dal Goi.
Gli ultimi dodici mesi hanno visto tutti noi impegnati a portare avanti i nostri doveri di iniziati in un clima che non può definirsi sereno. Le aggressioni e le violenze di cui siamo stati oggetto, a causa anche della infinita campagna elettorale, si sono caratterizzate per una virulenza con pochi precedenti. Ignoranza, fanatismo e distorta ambizione di primeggiare nel colpirci, hanno guidato i tanti, troppi assalti con cui hanno cercato di spaventarci per annientarci.
Sono orgoglioso di ricordare con quanto vigore e dirittura morale abbiamo saputo resistere, incoraggiati dall’energia e dalla dignità dimostrate dal nostro Gran Maestro, Fr. Stefano Bisi, al quale va il mio saluto rispettoso e fraterno.
Non voglio nemmeno dimenticare quegli attacchi, ingiustificati e autolesionistici, dall’interno della nostra Istituzione, che ci hanno procurato inutili disagi. Ci tengo peraltro a sottolineare la fermezza con la quale il Collegio si è schierato, nell’ultima riunione, contro i “reiterati ed ingiustificati attacchi alla regolarità e funzionalità di Casa Nathan“, condannando altresì “fermamente, all’unanimità, ogni accostamento, anche eventuale, del Grande Oriente d’Italia ad una associazione segreta, vietata dalla Legge Anselmi“.
Questa complessa situazione, per quanto triste, non ha comunque impedito alle Officine di lavorare a pieno ritmo sia ritualmente, sia organizzando, anche insieme al Collegio, un gran numero di iniziative di ottimo livello. Passata la ricreazione, è da questa nostra dedizione al Lavoro che dobbiamo ripartire con forza e convinzione per dimostrare innanzitutto a noi stessi che nessuna difficoltà è in grado di piegarci.
