Una trentina di giovani rotariani è stata ospite, il 2 dicembre a Casa Nathan, del Collegio circoscrizionale Lazio.
I giovani, tutti sotto i trent’anni e appartenenti al “Rotaract Club Roma Tirreno Monte Mario”, sono stati ricevuti dal presidente del Collegio, Carlo Ricotti, che li ha accompagnati in una visita della sede.
“Voi giovani siete il perno della futura società – ha detto il Fr. Ricotti nel suo indirizzo di saluto -. Pertanto noi abbiamo un vivo interesse a colloquiare e confrontarci con voi su tematiche di orientamento civile e spirituale, soprattutto allo scopo di favorire il contributo delle giovani generazioni allo sviluppo dell’istituzione massonica“.
Riunitisi in uno dei templi maggiori, gli ospiti hanno quindi attivamente partecipato ad un incontro-dibattito sulla Massoneria, la sua storia e i suoi principi.
L’argomento è stato affrontato, sotto differenti aspetti, da alcuni Fratelli tra i quali Riccardo Silipigni, Sergio Masini, Massimo Guidarelli, oltre al Fr. Ricotti.
Sono stati illustrati i principali simboli presenti nei templi, ripercorsa a grandi linee la storia della Massoneria moderna, spiegato il funzionamento del Grande Oriente d’Italia. E’ stato altresì spiegato che il massone è un uomo del dubbio ed è alla costante ricerca della verità. Riguardo al metodo di lavoro, particolare importanza è stata data alla tolleranza intesa come rigoroso rispetto delle opinioni altrui. In merito è stato ricordato che lo stesso Gran Maestro del G.O.I., Stefano Bisi, sottolinea spesso come nei templi massonici si parli uno alla volta e non si contesti l’opinione di un altro fratello, bensì si aggiunga serenamente la propria.
Lo scopo del lavoro è infatti quello di conoscere se stessi per migliorarsi e, attraverso il proprio miglioramento, contribuire al bene dell’umanità. Si tratta però di un lavoro lungo e gravoso, rappresentato simbolicamente nei templi dalla parete incompiuta.
Anche sulla base delle molte domande provenienti dagli ospiti è stato sottolineato come in Massoneria si entri solo se Fratelli esperti riconoscono il candidato come uomo libero e di buoni costumi, doti indispensabili per affrontare il lavoro dell’iniziato.
